A few Ideas, Tips and Hints for Beginner Scrapbookers
One tip I would give to anybody who scrapbooks or wants to get into scrapbooking is to go into reject shops and get some great scrapbooking bargains. I always love to spend time in these sorts of shops and always come out with some bargains.
Another thing I found useful when I first starting scrapbooking was purchasing scrapbooking magazines. These magazines are full of fantastic ideas and are a great place to get your creative juices flowing. I ended up getting a magazine subscription and each year I changed the magazine I subscribed to so I ended up with a variety a different types of magazine and still to this day I flip though the magazines to come up with ideas for my pages and layouts.
Another place to find some good ideas isin books. There is a great range of scrapbooking books available on almost any topic you wish to find more about.
Getting Started
- Other than some photos there a few basic items you will need before you can start to scrapbook.
- First of all you need to buy a Scrapbook.
- After you have chosen a scrapbook you will need to buy some sort a adhesive. Some adhesives people use are glue sticks, glue pens, spray adhesive or double sided tape. I personally use double sides tape. I find it makes less mess and I don’t end up with getting sticky glue over everything.
- Another thing you might want to consider buying is some gel pens for you to write on you scrapbooking pages.
- Another thing to consider is paper or card stock. There is a huge range of paper available and its up to your taste and the photos you want to scrapbook as to what sort of paper you buy.
- Another thing to look out for is some items to embellish your pages. These items can range from stickers to glitter to die cuts to borders to glitter to eyelets to brads and the list goes on and on.
- Another useful item is some sort of cutting tool. There are scissors, Stanley knife and paper trimmers. I personally use a paper trimmer. I got it for a birthday present. I use it to cut paper, to trim down photos and much much more.
Happy Scrapbooking
